UBW advisors are professionals in the business community who donate a week of their time to the program. Many advisors are managers, vice presidents, company officers, and business owners. Their goal is to help students grasp business principles and apply them throughout the week.

Chief Technical Officer – Mountain Alarm

For the past 12 years, Aaron Allen has had the privilege of serving as chief technical and ethics officer for Fire Protection Service Corporation (FPS) and its affiliated brands: Mountain Alarm, Link Interactive, CopperState Fire Protection, and Kenco Security & Technology. FPS and its national brands are located in Ogden, Utah, with regional offices throughout Montana, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho. Aaron leads teams that specialize in information technology infrastructure and security, systems development and integrations, and corporate ethics. He graduated from Utah Business Week in 1994, Weber State University in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in information systems and technology, and Brigham Young University in 2004 with a master's degree in information systems management.
Aaron lives in South Ogden with his wife Crystal, three boys (Bryson, Jace, and Jet), and one daughter (Breklyn). In his free time, he enjoys vacationing and spending time with his family, golfing, hiking, running, beach exploring, and collecting and playing board games. In 2015, Aaron survived a head-on car accident and learned that friends, colleagues, organizations, and communities have powerful impacts on supporting and shaping an individual's life. He loves UBW and the opportunity to give back to the next generation of leaders.
VP Consumer Lending – Mountain America Credit Union

Jade got his start at Mountain American Credit Union as a part-time teller while attending college in 1992. At Mountain America, he has been on the front lines as a mortgage loan originator and in management in the mortgage area. Currently, Jade is the vice president of consumer lending where he oversees a portfolio of more than $3 billion in auto, RV, indirect lending, and credit card loans. In addition, he oversees lending insurance products and serves on the credit union's loan and rate committees. Jade has been in his current role since 2004.
Jade is a proud graduate of the University of Utah's David Eccles School of Business with a bachelor's degree in accounting. He also earned an MBA from the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University. Jade is the father of seven children, including twin boys. His interests include fly fishing, hiking the beautiful mountains of Utah, spending time with his family, and cheering for the Utes. He and his wife Brandy reside in Clinton, Utah.
Manager – Dominion Energy

Mike Favero is the manager of northern region operations in the Western Distribution Gas Infrastructure Group at Dominion Energy. He oversees all operations functions in the region, including new customer additions, line damages, service and main line installation and replacement inspections, emergency response, system maintenance, and community liaison efforts. The northern region delivers gas to approximately 235,000 homes and businesses.
Mike has worked at Dominion Energy for 20 years and has held various positions in customer relations, including meter reading supervisor, credit/collections supervisor, credit/collections manager, and gas operations manager. Before joining operations as region manager in December of 2018, Mike was responsible for the revenue cycle, with responsibility for all functions of meter reading, billing, payment processing, and credit/collections. He was also instrumental in implementing the company’s first AMR system from 2002 to 2007, and then an AMR replacement program from 2014 to 2018.
Favero received his bachelor’s degree in business administration and an MBA, both from Weber State University. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his four children and wife, farming, and riding four-wheelers and horses.
Regulatory Analyst – Dominion Energy

Jessica has worked at Dominion Energy for 13 years. She is a regulatory analyst in the State Regulatory Affairs Department. The department calculates what customers pay for their natural gas service and proposes new tariff policy to the Utah and Wyoming Public Service Commissions for approval. The first eight years of her career, Jessica worked as an accountant at the company in asset then project accounting.
Jessica has a bachelor's degree in accounting from Weber State University and an MBA from Westminster College. She resides in Centerville, Utah. Outside of work, Jessica enjoys live music, traveling, tennis, and skiing. She is a 2001 UBW graduate!
Engineering Manager – Boeing

Bryan is the engineering manager at Boeing’s Salt Lake fabrication facility where he leads the design, liaison, and stress engineering teams. Bryan and his team are responsible for the design and analysis of the flight deck structures for Boeing’s commercial airplanes. His engineering team also leads the design improvement changes for the horizontal and vertical stabilizers of Boeing’s composite airplane the 787. In addition, Bryan is a member of Boeing’s recruiting team where he helps recruit engineers from local universities. Bryan began his career in 1987 with McDonnell Douglas Aircraft, which merged with Boeing in 1997 and he has been with the company for 32 years.
Bryan received his degree in mechanical engineering from Utah State University and is currently serving as a member of the Industrial Advisory Board for the university’s Mechanical Engineering Department. Bryan loves the time that he spends working with our future leaders at UBW. Bryan enjoys spending time waterskiing/wakeboarding, swimming, working in the yard, and rebuilding cars.
VP of Operations – Leavitt Group

Brian just recently joined the Leavitt Group as a VP of operations. Previously, Brian was the vice president of direct distribution at WCF Insurance and oversaw direct sales, business retention, and development. Brian worked for WCF from 1994 until the summer of 2019, having previously worked in the claims/special investigations department. He graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in sociology-economics in 1994 and, in 2003, graduated with a master of public administration (MPA) from the University of Utah. Brian has both the certified fraud examiner (CFE) and certified fraud specialist (CFS) designations. He currently serves on the board of directors for United Cerebral Palsy of Utah and the UVU Wolverine Club. His hobbies include mountain biking, golfing, and hiking.
Accounting Payment Processing Specialist – Progrexion

Mandy has been with Progrexion for four years. She attained this job through connections she met at Utah Business Week. Her responsibilities include the processing of credit card payments and daily batch processing. This also includes the review of output for errors and problems, and the correction of those problems. Previously, Mandy worked at Mountain America Credit Union for over 22 years both training in branches and in her last position as a membership development officer in branch administration. She was responsible for growing the membership of 60+ branches covering Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, and New Mexico. She lives in Farmington, Utah, with her husband Darin and their seven children. Her children range in age from 22 years old down to 6 years old. Mandy enjoys Diet Coke and spending time with her immediate and extended family.

Tony Rasmussen has worked in financial services for over 25 years and is part of the leadership team at Mountain America Credit Union. Prior to accepting his current position in public and financial education, Tony worked in digital and mobile banking, payments, card and ATM services, call center, and business services. Over the years, Tony has been invited to speak at a number of industry-related conferences and to other business and community groups on topics ranging from customer service to innovation and technology. Tony's other interests include film, music, and fitness. Tony is the father of four children. He and his wife make their home in South Jordan, Utah. Tony also attended Utah Business Week as a high school student.

Laura Stireman is the director for the agency relations department at WCF Insurance. As director of the agency relations department, Laura oversees the agency relationship functions of WCF’s appointed agency community in the Intermountain West. Laura enjoys the opportunity to work with a variety of people—from assisting agents in placing accounts to developing new training strategies. Laura has been with WCF for 20 years. When Laura is not at work, you can find her on the beach with her family.

Devin graduated from Utah Valley University in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in international business. After graduating, Devin moved to Vancouver, Canada, for a year to get some international work experience. In Canada, he worked for BC Hydro in the customer care department. Since moving back to Utah in 2013, Devin has worked for WCF Insurance as a marketing service rep before taking on his current role of working with insurance agency partners as an agency relations executive. In 2018, Devin earned his MBA from UVU. Outside of work, Devin really enjoys golf, snowboarding, and going to concerts.
